Two Months

Seriously? My baby girl is two months old? Where has the time gone? I can not believe two months ago today I was just meeting my sweet baby. The time has gone by incredibly fast. I want to post about some things she can do at this age, some behaviors she has, and a few pictures. She had her two month appointment today. She is also a very sick baby right now. She has a terrible cough, hoarse cry and has been miserable all day. I'm afraid getting her shots didn't help the matter. When you look at her you can see how miserable she is. Being a mom can be so hard when you can't do anything for your sweet, sick kids. I've already cried several times today, but being a mom is totally worth all the things like this that come with it! I wish I knew how to help her. :( She is a really good baby during the day, but come night time she is a different kid! Her doctor thinks she has colic since she does this at the same time EVERY night. Once 10:00 pm strikes, here we go! She will usually stop by 1:00 am if we are lucky. It's gone on until after 3:00 at times. I have tried gas drops, gripe water, singing to her, swaddling her, not swaddling her, running water, car rides, a baby rice bag, breast milk, formula, setting her down, she's eaten, burped, has a clean bum, held her every way possible. Need I go on? :) If anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears! Her doctor said if she is still doing this at six months we will look into other things it could be. Hopefully it won't last that long. Don't get me wrong, I love her, but it's extremely hard to not know what to do for your baby. She screams so hard she is full on sweating, bright red and thrashing her body around. Anyway, she really is a sweet baby though and I wouldn't trade more sleep for her. She is totally worth it. Here are her stats from today.

-She has grown from 19 3/4 inches to 21 inches

-Her take home weight was 5 lbs 12 oz (6 lbs 3 oz @ birth) and she is now 9 lbs 14 oz

From this....

To thisBig girl!

Here are some things our baby girl is doing at this age.

-Can hold her head up with no help and look around the room. She's held her head on her own since three weeks.

-Will stand up when we burp her on the knee so we have to do it over the shoulder. She's so strong!

-Smiles, coos, and giggles

-Loves to be sang to

-Still hates the bath

-Loves to be held

-Has been nicknamed "Channers" by her big brother

Channing's Special Day

We blessed our sweet little princess, Channing Lillie Stone on the 26th of December. It was a little crazy with it being the day after Christmas, but it all worked out great. We had a great day filled with family and friends. Her blessing was done by her Grandpa Stone and he did a great job. It was a beautiful blessing. She cried through most of it, but it was still great. She still hadn't recovered from me ticking her off getting her in her dress etc. She was not happy that I woke her up for all of that. After the blessing we came to our house for brunch. We had a little over thirty people here. We had planned enough for about forty/forty five. A few people were not able to come, but we still had a great turn out. No get together would have happened if Mary and Isaac (mostly Mary) had not convinced me to do one. I thought our house would be too small, that it would be too chaotic, and mainly I did not want to cook and put on a show for everyone. Making a meal for a big group of people, not my thing. I barely am able to make dinner for my little family with out being frazzled. Mary and Isaac took it upon themselves to do everything for us. We provided the food and they made it all. I told them I would try to embarrass them so hopefully it's working. They made delicious french toast complete with your choice of strawberries, huckleberries, peaches, mixed berries, and breakfast potatoes with kielbasa sausage. It was so delicious! I got a picture of the potatoes and then got distracted and didn't get a picture of the whole buffet like I wanted, bummer. Thank you Mary and Isaac for making it all happen. We would not have done anything if they hadn't have taken charge. They even came over on Christmas night and helped get everything ready. They are AWESOME and we owe them big time! We are so grateful to have Channing in our lives. I already don't remember what things were like before she was here. She is a little sweetheart and we are truly blessed. Here are some pictures of the big day.

Our sweet little love bug.

We were able to get a little smile out of her
Makoy looked so handsome and was a proud big brother.

Our little family

Channing's cousin, Jordan and Grandma Stone

I could not get a group shot for the life of me, people were too spread out, but here are some of the people who came.

And some more

The kids table
The delicious breakfast potatoes.

Mary and Isaac, our chefs for the day. This is the best I could get since they are so stubborn and wouldn't let me take a picture.

See what I mean? They came over the night before to prep some food and set things up. I tried to get a picture then, too.

Christmas

We had a great Christmas. We spent the day at home which was great. We had a lot to do that day to get ready for Channing's blessing the following day, but staying at home was a nice change. Makoy is at such a fun age. His Christmas lists are starting to get quite particular. Even though Channing wasn't into it yet, we had a lot of fun with her. We feel so blessed to have two sweet and healthy children. What a great year 2010 has been for us. It's such a special time of year, and we are grateful for our Savior and the true meaning of Christmas.

We woke up to this

And thisThe stockings and such. Is it sad my favorite part of this picture is that my couch actually looks clean? Don't worry, it's an optical illusion.

Santa enjoyed our cookies.

Makoy ran right to his construction set that Santa left out.

This is the best I could get with Channing and her gifts.

She was so tired from all the fun.

Makoy with his hamster toy. It runs in the wheel and he watches it all day. This is the closest he will ever get to having a real pet in our house.
Rockin his construction getup
Can you tell he likes it?

Santa brought him a bouncy ball making kit.

Shane sportin his church sweater he got.
What cute kids! Her bow looks massive, but I was having fun playing dress up.
This picture makes me laugh. She was mid yawn
Dressed as our little Christmas present. Look at those cheeks!
A picture of my least favorite part, the aftermath.

I forgot to put this picture on my previous post. Channing loved being the center of attention at the Christmas Eve party.
